9月25日石室中学北美课程学生社区义工活动走进成都SOS儿童村,为儿童村的孩子们“送图书、送欢乐、送爱心”。
40 Students of North America Center of Shishi High School visited the Chengdu SOS children’s village with a specially prepared program and beautiful new books for children of the village on Sunday, September 25th, 2016.
国际SOS儿童村组织是1949年由奥地利医学博士赫尔曼格迈纳尔先生创建的民间慈善团体,进而把这项事业扩展到全世界。目前成都SOS儿童村现有15个家庭,每个家庭居住4-6个孩子,由一个SOS妈妈照顾孩子们的生活起居,并给予孩子们所需要的安全、爱和稳定。
The International SOS group was founded in 1949 by an Austrian, Ph.D., Herman; he expanded the business around the world. Now Chengdu’s SOS village has 15 existing families with around 100 children. Each family home has four to six children, and is looked after by a SOS mother who lives with the children, and gives the children much needed love, security and stability.
成都SOS儿童村夏主任为同学们详细介绍了儿童村的历史和现状,在肯定赞扬同学们善举的同时,也引导同学门重新定义儿童村SOS的含义:save our soul
Mr. Xia, the Assistant of the Head of Chengdu SOS, introduced our students to the details of the history of Chengdu SOS. He also explained the specific needs of the SOS kids and praised the classmates for volunteering at SOS. He taught us the meaning of the acronym SOS: Save our Soul.
同学们准备了精彩的节目,有乐器表演、歌曲、朗诵、魔术游戏等,和儿童村的孩子们共度了愉快的周末时光。
Students prepared a wonderful show. There was a musical instrument performance with flute and recorder, magic card games, cup-stomping and clapping songs, Chinese poetry reading, and other fun activities. Children spent a wonderful few hours together on the weekend.
儿童村值周家庭邀请同学们去家里做客,同学们带上了募捐的图书,用心准备的心愿卡,希望书本能给他们力量,心愿卡带给他们温暖。
Kids on duty invited students to visit their warm home. Our students visited their house with the donation of books, thoughtfully handwritten loving cards which give the children hope, strength, positive energy and best wishes.
儿童村孩子的健康成长需要社会各界力量的积极参与,同学们尽自己的微薄之力,帮助身边需要帮助的人,关注社会,关心他人的脚步一直在继续。
Children’s healthy growth requires participation from all people in society. Students do their own part by helping others, paying close attention to our community and learning the important aspects of life in a safe environment. The vital step of caring for our young continues.
